Masking in 10 Minutes of Less

For those days when you really don’t have the time to sit and mask, here are three masks that get the job done in 10 min or less.

z.bigatti Restoration Impact Fruit Enzyme Facial Mask

*@vickimoravskincare gifted me this product for me to try with no expectation for review

  • This is my “use when skin looks dull” mask
  • $129 for 2 oz

I have used a lot of fruit enzyme masks that promise exfoliation and do nothing. This one works really well and in only 3-5 minutes! I have actually given away my Dunk Elephant baby facial because this product gives me those results but without the 3 days of sensitized skin that I tend to get after using Baby Facial. (Baby facial is $47 per oz and this is $65, so this is more). It has papain, bromelain, and pumpkin enzymes to exfoliate skin (by breaking down the keratin proteins attached to dead skin, helping those cells to slough off), aloe vera to soothe it, and kaolin clay to absorb excess oil. My skin always looks brighter immediately after and in the days that follow.

I little goes a long way so this product will last awhile AND it has a 30mth shelf life. So it is pricey but it lasts.

Jan Marini Retinol Plus Mask

*@theskinboss gifted me this product for me to try with no expectation for review

  • This is my “weekly retinol bootcamp” mask
  • $92 for 1.2oz

I like to use this mask once a week and then I apply a super gentle retinal on top (allies of skin 1A Retinal + Peptides Overnight Mask is my go to). I like to use this on a Thursday because the two days that follow I tend to have super good skin days where my skin feels balanced and smooth (so I save that for the weekend haha).

This will often flatten larger cysts that are brewing so I also use it to tackle those. But basically, I apply it for 10 min and then rinse off –the more consistently I use it, the better results I see.

It has 1% retinol, anti-aging peptide Oligopeptide 24, and antioxidants (green tea) to help address and fade pigmentation and help with fine lines (over time obviously, you won’t see faded pigmentation or reduction in lines after 10 min). Also has >1% salicylic acid  to help clear blocked pores to maintain clear skin. And I love that it has soothing agents (aloe and bisabolol) along with fatty acids, ceramides, squalane, and hydrators to moisturize and condition the skin’s barrier.

Ingredients: Water, Kaolin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Polysorbate 60, Salicylic Acid, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Retinol, Bisabolol, Oligopeptide-24, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Safflower Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide 2, Shea Butter, Camellia Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Tocopheryl Acetate, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Squalane, Caprylyl Glycol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carrageenan, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol

Niod Flavanone Mud Mask

  • This is my “time to tackle & prevent hormonal breakouts” mask
  • $39 for 50ml
    • I get the smaller size because it doesn’t have a long shelf life
    • Skinstore.com currently has a sale for 25% using code FF25!

I have to be careful about the timing of when I use this mask because it really pulls things out from under the surface. But after it brings things to the surface it helps reveal clearer skin and seems to help prevent future congestion from forming. So I use this the week before my period to help to prevent some hormonal breakouts.

It uses black clay, white clay, copper-rich clay to help pull out and break down surface impurities but then it also has ingredients that provide preventive and protective benefits. For example, algae and resveratrol work to shield the skin and fight inflammation. Bottom line, it will pull out gunk under the surface, visibly reduce inflammation and help keep new congestion from forming.

I apply a thin layer (usually forming an I on my face to cover T zone and jawline), and then I rinse off with cold water (to help reduce tingling that can happen) after 10 min. I also use this to spot treat bad cysts.
