When it comes to sales I am prone to impulse purchases… what has helped me resist is knowing (1) whether it is possible to get a better deal from another retailer and (2) whether there are any “evergreen codes” that I should be aware of (evergreen codes are ongoing discount codes that usually don’t have an expiration date). Sometimes a brand is ONLY available at one online retailer, so if that retailer is having a sale, then I know that that would be a good time to buy that product. My process is usually to look up what stores stock a brand, and then see if discount codes are available. If the retailers have similar discount codes then I look at shipping costs.
Bottom line is that whenever there is a sale, it is always a good idea to check if there are any better deals before buying it. To help you with that, I wanted to make a post with all of my ongoing discount codes. Then at the end I will provide some other tips for finding some good deals.

Ways to Save: Cash Back App/Websites
For the best options in cash back, Rakuten is my go to. Rakuten lets you stack coupons to save more money. For example, if Dermstore has a 20% off coupon and Rakuten is offering 10% cash back, it is like getting 28% off. Also, for certain brands that never work with coupon codes, Rakuten can sometimes be the only way I save money on those purchases. The small amounts add up and then they send you a check every 3 months. Rakuten will also help you search for available coupon codes before you complete your purchase. They have both an app and a browser extension.
If you haven’t signed up before you can get $40 in your account after your first purchase of $40 or more for using this referral link: ebates.com/r/NESS119
For tracking prices, finding coupon codes and getting some smaller amounts of cash back, I like Honey and Karma.
First up is Honey. It is also free to join and I think it offers some unique features which is why I use both Rakuten and Honey. Unlike cash-back platforms like Rakuten (which gives you a fixed amount of cash back) many Honey Gold offers award a random percentage range that varies between sites. When you are shopping, Honey let’s you know whether the purchase is eligible to earn “gold” and then you can click “activate” to earn the points. Once you accumulate 1,000 Gold as a U.S. member, you can redeem free gift cards to a variety of retailers or you have the option to redeem those points for cash back that will be available through your PayPal account (this is what I do). Honey’s main feature is automatically applying coupon codes before you make an online purchase. Rakuten also does this, but I find that Honey seems to find some unique coupons when Rakuten doesn’t. Honey also shows you the price history and let’s you compare prices across retailers so you know if you have found the best price. Another way to save money with the Honey browser extension is to add products to your Droplist. This let’s you set an alert for a specific product and Honey can let you know when it is back in stock OR when the price drops. (*Another nice thing is that Honey will work on Amazon)
Example of the browser plugin. The h in the orange box stays on your screen, and when you click on it you can see the cash back opportunities. You can also see price history, track the price of the product and also see available coupons
Another option is Karma, but I think Honey has the same features and more. I have both added as browser extensions just in case one finds a coupon code that the other doesn’t.
